a cause for celebration
the family reunion was a blast, unfortunately i don't have any pix to post. but it was so much fun, there was a lot of laughter, memories were made, and it wouldn't be a family reunion without the fighting and bickering. i guess we haven't entirly grown out of that (who does?). so with the end of the family reunion comes another beginning for me. i got a job!! so here's to family and work.

the crazy wesley family reunion
it is here, the time that i have been counting done since the beginning of the summer!! the wesley's will be under the same roof for almost two weeks. that is calling for some serious pandemonium, i feel sorry for sean and lisa. it doesn't matter how long you've been in this family, there is no getting used to it. jokes aside i am so excited for the upcoming weeks!!! pictures will follow....

you really will laugh out loud
i love the japanese. they not only are far more advanced than the rest of the world, but they are the only people who would think to do things like this.

things of 2008
So this year has certainly been a year of "firsts." From sewing my first outfit to decorating my first cake. Yesterday I took a stab at cake decorating and made Caden's birthday cake!! I have to give credit to MJ because it was her idea, I just brought it to life...Anyways, I'm pretty proud of myself and not to toot my own horn, but I think it looked dang good; plus it tasted way better than any store bought one. So I've done two new things this year and it's already July...where has the year gone?

my three
3 joys
- being an aunty
- reading a good book
- being with family
3 fears
- rotten teeth. seriously i had a nightmare about that once
- losing a family member
- growing old alone
3 goals
- focus on school and sort out my life
- travel somewhere that is really foreign like in the eastern hemisphere, not including the pacific. even if it ends up being estonia or some random place that no else knows of, i don't care
- learn a new language
3 current obsessions/collections
- books, i read three over the weekend
- watching movies online because i can't afford the real thing
- uh, youtube
3 random surprising things you never knew about me
- i have a routine when i brush my teeth and once upon a time i used to count brush strokes. i was slightly ocd as a kid
- i am slightly afraid of fish and coral so i don't really like snorkeling
- i was scared of using that bathroom in the middle of the night because i thought the toilet sounded like a monster so would flush the toilet and run back to bed
thanks to nila, you now know a little more about me. and everyone that i would tag has already been tagged so oh well

A few new things
So I was brave today and i decided to let MJ cut my hair. Yes, I am not kidding, she cut my hair and I like it. I also have to mention that hair doesn't mean much to me because it always grows back, but I'm not trying to say it was a bad hair cut. I mean for a person who doesn't even know how to braid she did a good job. Thanks MJ! I also have a new favorite band called Wye Oak, and if you are interested you can check them out here.

My chance discovery
I enjoy country music although it's not something I go out of my way to get, but when I happen to stumble upon a good song I am always happy. So as I was flipping channels one night I happened to hear this song on the GAC channel, and I fell in love. This is called "Please read the Letter" and it's by Allison Krauss and Robert Plant from Led Zepplin. Who knew that they could make good music together, and what better way to share it then on my blog. I really have nothing else to blog about...

I guess it is Utah
So I recently read the new novel by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight) "The Host." I wasn't planning on reading it but Nila told me to. So due to peer pressure coming all the way from San Antonio I went out on a hunt for this book.
But, before I went out on that wild goose chase I tried to get it for free from the library. The day it came out I went on to the online catalog that the Provo Library and found out that my position in the queue was 177 at the time. I thought that was crazy, but the craziest thing is that I went on again just out of curiosity tonight and the queue is now at 287, and they had to order new books! well it is utah after all, and it's provo too.
As for the book, I enjoyed it a lot. It's not for everyone, but I thought it was good. I still think that the Twilight series is much better though

a few songs from my playlist...
Since I have nothing else to blog about, I thought I might share a few songs that i absolutely love, and some discoveries-at least to me
This is one of my favorite songs from the movie Once. It's called "When your mind's made up". I love everything about this song.
This is one of my favorite Feist songs from her album Let it Die. It's called "Mushaboom"
I have always loved The Killers but I only recently heard this song. "Why do I keep counting?" is fast becoming one of my favorites from them.
Okay this last one is another from the film Once, it is my favorite song from it. It's called "Lies."
I'm sure their is an easier way to share with everyone, but oh well I'm bored. ENJOY!

the movie corner
So I recently watched national treasure 2 and it was what I expected. This movie is proof that Disney sucks whatever life they have out of a good film. The first National Treasure was fun, exciting, and different. It had a good plot, humorous script, it was just highly entertaining. In this second film all the jokes were old, the plot was weak, and they needed a better antogonist. So I don't think this movie was worth the time and i wouldn't recommend it to many people, but then again that's only my opinion.

Here's to life
Is it possible to trade in your life for someone else's?? I'm only kidding, but seriously, don't you have those days when you wish you could be some one else, even if only for a day??
And don't get me wrong, I love my life. well i'm content in my life, it's actually amazing that i'm not depressed or something given my current circumstances. (i.e. no job, etc...) Anyways, I am here to say that besides the obvious, I am a very happy person, and I think that it is all because of my family, friends, and the gospel. Who knows where i would be with even one of those things missing. So thank you my friends and family, for without you i would be homeless and on the street, maybe not that extreme but you get me drift.
And I think that if something like trading lives were possible it wouldn't be pretty, just watch wife swap, if you know what i mean.

It's movie time
"Once"
This is such a sweet film with really good music. I recommend it to all those who really appreciate real musicians that make real good music. The film is rated R for language but if you could find an edited version watch it, or even listen to the music on youtube. The music is so great it even won an Oscar, which was very deserving, for their song "Falling Slowly"
"Penelope"
Such a cute movie that is good for the whole entire family. The film is very clever, funny and very clean. And personally, I thought that Christina Ricci looked real cute with a pig snout as opposed to being repulsive.
"Amadeus"
I love watching and reading historical fiction, and this was one to add to the collection. Even though the main plot of this film is fictional it made for a great drama and gave you a little peek into the real life of Mozart, whose life story i had never heard of before.
*you can tell that i have no money for anything but the dollar theater and red box... yay for watching movies for a dollar or less!

BYU Luau
So here are some pics of my puletasi (that bright yellow thing) and of course my posse! i don't know about you but i think i did a pretty good job, and it looked a whole lot better than some of the others...and for an amateur sewer i am anything but modest. i wish i could say the same for the dance, but then again i went through the whole night without making any huge mistakes. don't worry my head is still the same size.
and thanks to my supporters i heard my name screamed every time i was on stage too. it was also a fun night that was well worth waking up for and teaching myself how to sew.

random thoughts...
I can't wait for this week to be over, more specifically for lu'au to be over. Yes, I will finally get my weekend mornings back to do more constructive activities in my dreams whilst I'm sleeping. No more sauntering up to campus in the early morning hours to dance! Somehow it all seems worth it because i love to share my culture with others, and I actually sewed my costume for Samoa...hopefully it'll stay together by the end of the night.

I could eat that
At the request of a friend, I have decided to share my obsession over a TV show called Bizarre Foods. If you haven't seen the show before I have a clip to show you a little bit about what this man does, but you should get the idea from the title alone.
This seriously is my favorite Bizarre Foods moment. I cringed just at the sight of that frog but I couldn't help but watch, I mean I can't even touch a frog let alone eat one. Yet the more I watch this show the more i find myself saying "I could eat that."

My shell
So today I tried to call my mum (yeah yeah) who is in NZ, but instead of talking to her I had a pleasant time chatting my grandma- until she realized who I was. Yes, today my own grandmother forgot who I was. In her defense, I do have an aunt who I am supposedly named after living in NZ, but does that mean I have an accent?
Whatever the case, this brings up something important. I am not that person everyone remembers, I'm actually the opposite. At least it's the case with people who are more of acquaintances than friends. So I really need to step out of this "shell" you might call it, and really let my personality shine. I know that sounds cheesy but I'm serious. I guess this might come from being the youngest and hiding behind my siblings, but if I'm going to make it in this world I really need to break out of that. This is all easier said than done, but I promise I will make more of an effort to speak up and make myself known. So one day someone will say, "Do you remember Angela Wesley?" and that person will reply "Why yes, yes I do and she is awesome."

What's in a blog?
Ok, not that anybody reads my blog, but ever since I started this I never know what to write about. I feel that this blog should bring out the witty and creative side in me...but it hasn't happened yet. So if it doesn't bring out those particular characteristics, I should at least give depth to each entry. So I leave this to you, my faithful readers-whoever you are- do you have any suggestions??

i've succumbed
As if I don't have enough things to keep up with, I am officially a "blogger". Yes I have finally decided to do this. I figure it could be a way for me to unwind when I have nothing else to do, or want to express myself in one way or another. Anyways, this might become addicting and it may force me to get rid of some other accounts that I maintain. We'll just have to wait and see!
